I have never attempted a game review but this series has invaded my mind. In 30+ years of gaming, few title could hold a candle next to the Souls series and its ability to immerse a player into the depths of a game.
Demon’s Souls was the first game I ever purchase on my PS3, well before most other players discovered the uncanny art direction, fair & tough game play, and the ability to build and create new characters through amazing replay value.
But it was the original Dark Souls that seeped into my soul. This was nearly a perfect game for me. The replay value was fantastic, making me want to discover every weapon, spell, play-style, quests, enemies, covenants, and NPC’s story line. It got better when lore videos started to delve into the grand story of Gwynn and the amazing world of Lordran.
